New 'Research to Impact' training offering from Britest

Britest is pleased to introduce a new training offering in the form of an interactive one-day event helping post-graduates and early-stage researchers explore the concept of research ‘impact’ and how they can achieve it as indivduals and within groups.

Following a successful pilot with the University of Leeds' Molecules to Medicines Centre for Doctoral training and a further recent adaptation for the newly established Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, Britest is keen to broaden this opportunity to other academic institutions seeking to equip their early-career researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to translate academic excellence into broader benefits for industry and society at large.

The day provides delegates with a lively blend of information input, group-based work and on-your-feet practical experience. Subjects covered include identifying and protecting intellectual property, learning how to shape and pitch an idea, and collaboratively discussing live projects,

Britest CEO Kirk Malone said, "This new training offering represents a further extension in Britest's already considerable capacity to deliver targeted training that genuinely complements traditional academic syllabuses and core competencies. We don't train train people to become excellent researchers, we train excellent researchers to become more rounded people: the sort of people who can command a premium in any walk of life."
