External appointments for Sue and Mark

The strategic skills and insight of two senior figures in Britest have been recognised through their recent appointments to external advisory bodies.

Firstly, we are delighted to report that Britest CEO Sue Fleet has been appointed to the Presidency of the Comité de Pilotage Scientifique (CPS) of the French National Research Agency, ANR. CPS is the Agency’s new scientific advisory board, and is made up of external appointees selected either for their scientific competence in relevant fields of activity, or for their socio-economic insight and skills in national funding for research, development and innovation. CPS supports the development and implementation of ANR’s annual action plan, and is also consulted on research proposal evaluation, measurement of impact, review of scientific departmental structures and leadership appointments.

In a separate development, Britest Technical Director Mark Talford's appointment to the Steering Group of the Irish Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology Centre (PMTC) has been ratified by Enterprise Ireland. Hosted by the University of Limerick,  PMTC’s industry-driven research programme enables member companies to create projects and execute world-beating research in advanced technology solutions to contemporary pharma manufacturing issues.

Mark Talford commented, “This new role reinforces Britest’s collaborative relationship with the University of Limerick, in particular around our shared interest in plant cleaning.”
