Bonny Victor - Technical Manager

With a solid foundation in lab management and leadership, and a background in hazards identification and processes in the foundation industries sectors, Bonny skills complement others on the Britest team, and broaden the scope of the Britest knowledge offering.

A lover of animals, the outdoors, travelling the world, and all things sustainable, Bonny is a repatriated-South African now well-adjusted to the vagaries of weather in the UK. She holds an honours degree in Archaeology, a master’s degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Applied Chemistry/Biomolecular Archaeology. She has published peer reviewed papers and presented at conferences on subjects ranging from sequencing fragmented ancient DNA found in prehistoric stone tool residues, to the identification of diatoms in natural salt deposits.

Aside from the application of microscopy techniques to various fields and applications, Bonny has commercial experience with the development of lubricants and drilling fluids for small annulus exploration drilling, the extraction and beneficiation of industrial minerals, chlor-alkali chemicals and the development of chlorine-based products, agricultural soil remediation products, water treatment chemicals and polymers. Most recently her experience lies in the field of mining and quarrying, developing, and optimising sustainable civil explosives for use in a wide variety of mining contexts in SA and limestone quarries in the UK.
